Interior design trends are not the same as fashion trends, but very often they interact with each other. In the interior, trends have a significantly longer-lasting impact and are more often an indicator of where we are going, of a change in the way people, communities and societies think and perceive the environment in which we live. They take shape slowly over time and are the result of both innovations and technological innovations in production and design, as well as popular or completely unexpected significant events that make us change many things in our lifestyle.
But still, we often observe the penetration of interesting ideas that offer unexpected solutions and make our homes more cheerful, cozy and inspiring. Like the impressive splendor and fashion influences in furniture design - one of the prevailing trends in interior design in the last year.
For some time now, table designs show unexpected, often sculptural base, and every year we see more and more interesting shapes. Like the Onda Indoor table by Pianka - with its lacquered sculptural base in a variety of colors and materials, it is an easy way to create visual splendor in any interior or exterior space.
Or a table like this one from the Pliseé collection, designed by Paola Navone, quite obviously inspired by fashion:
Cozy Comfort
Elegance and eco-responsibility are constant themes at exhibitions in
London,
Paris,
Milan and
Frankfurt, but in the world of interiors, the most important annual international event, which largely indicates what the trends will be for at least the following year, is
Salone del Mobile major event of the inspiring
Milan Design Week. When the Italian design capital hosts the Salone del Mobile and all its stunningly extensive accompanying events every April, professionals and enthusiasts from all over the world turn their attention to Milan to follow the innovations and ideas that will determine the direction of design for the following year and beyond.
What did we see in Milan last April? If you are looking for ideas in new trends and possibilities for renovating your home, the feeling of luxury and comfort was predominant in most of the new proposals. Not the flashy luxury, but the enjoyment of comfort and joy for all the senses. A huge variety of eye-pleasing colors and materials, used in a variety of combinations and again in predominantly soft fluid forms, both in upholstered furniture and in the construction of tables, chairs and cabinet furniture – this is the overall impression of the exhibition.
Moreover, it is all in the details: the furniture is treated as microsculptures, with the craftsmanship highlighted by visible seams and artisanal touches...
